Middle/High English Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational team. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and foster student engagement.
• Teach various aspects of English, including writing skills, creative writing, journalism, and literacy education.
• Utilize instructional design principles to create effective learning experiences using learning technology.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
• Mentor students in their academic pursuits and provide tutoring as needed to support their growth.
• Maintain organized classroom environments that promote positive behavior management and effective communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in academic advising as necessary.
• Engage in research and utilize library services to enhance lesson content and teaching strategies.

Skills

• Strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning techniques.
• Proficient in AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, copy editing, proofreading, and linguistics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students and staff alike.
• Demonstrated experience working with students in a classroom setting, including special education or private school experience.
• Effective organizational skills for managing classroom activities and student records.
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies and higher education teaching practices.
• Experience in mentoring or tutoring students across various subjects, including math and literacy education. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
