Duties

• Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating learning technology and creative writing techniques to enhance student engagement.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials that incorporate AP style, Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, and research-based pedagogical practices.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
• Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, literacy education, and research capabilities; offer tutoring sessions as needed to reinforce learning objectives.
• Manage classroom environments effectively by employing behavior management strategies and fostering an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, instructional strategies, and school initiatives; participate in professional development opportunities related to education administration and special education.
• Support students’ social-emotional development through mentorship and academic advising while maintaining clear communication with parents and guardians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification for middle or high school English education in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Proven classroom experience with diverse student populations; private school experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and standardized testing procedures.
• Proficiency in learning technology tools, instructional design software, and library services to enhance teaching effectiveness.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Demonstrated organizational skills for managing multiple classes, assessments, and administrative tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with special education accommodations, behavior management techniques, and Montessori or other alternative educational approaches is advantageous. Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
