Job description: Middle School / High School Substitute Teacher

Location: Great hearts Lakeside, 7655 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76123

We are accepting applications for substitute teachers for Great Hearts Academies. While we most often meet all substituting needs internally (faculty substitute for each other), we like to have a pool of reviewed/screened/approved Great Hearts Academies substitutes from which to draw for short/long-term substitution needs which may arise (e.g. for maternity leave, etc.) at schools within the network. All substitute teachers are required to have a valid, current fingerprint clearance card.

HIRING PROCESS

Heads of School are largely autonomous in the hiring processes for their campuses. They discern for themselves the candidates of interest, and contact, interview, and make offers to those candidates per their own hiring timetables. Again, the need for a substitute at any given academy may or may not arise at any given time.

Candidates may hear from one or more Head(s) of School and/or Great Hearts staff member(s) shortly after submitting their application, or they may not hear anything for a number of months (as some Heads of School prefer to interview candidates only after reviewing a large number of applications).

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
