Overall responsibility
Supervise and maintain daily operations for the Employee, Terminal and Public Parking Shuttle Service Program at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
*** Monday and Wednesday 4p - 4a; every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 4p - 4a ***
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure that all vehicle drivers successfully perform daily tasks as outlined in the Standard Operation Procedure manual.
- Deliver high-end customer service while ensuring that all reports comply with outlined customer service requirements.
- Adjust and maintain required staffing to facilitate compliance to identified headways and dwell times.
- Perform daily tasks as outlined in the company standard operating procedures while adhering to established company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Immediately respond to any reported DOT roadside inspections, incident, accident, injury involving company vehicles and/or personnel.
- Complete investigations of any incident, accident or complaint involving company personnel and/or vehicles.
- Immediately take action to reported/note delays in service or deviation from established routes.
- Complete all required reports as outlined by policy, procedure or guideline.
- Communicate with the appropriate public safety personnel as indicated by event and outlined by company policy, procedure or guideline.
- Facilitate the provision of alternative vehicles as indicated.
- Facilitate the provision of additional vehicles as directed by Dir. of Transportation.
- Maintain daily communication with the Director of Airport Transportation and Overflow Resource Transportation Management regarding events as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
- Communicate daily updates and status of equipment to the relieving supervisor.
- Review all submitted reports, resolve and disposition as needed.
- Manage staff in accordance with third party representation contract
- Perform other duties as directed.
Candidates must:
- Possess a valid Michigan Commercial Driver License with an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Pass DOT drug screening
- Possess and maintain a DOT medical certificate
- Read and speak English fluently
- Be capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience; past 2 years using CDL to transport passengers
- Capable of operating all equipment used in the performance of the airport shuttle operation
- Have a working knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Possess a working knowledge of vehicle functions and the ability to detect and evaluate defects in need of repair
- Ability to work overtime. Overtime is available!!!!

- Have a familiarity with local traffic laws and area traffic patterns
- Posses strong organizational skills with attention to details
- Strong written/spoken skills when reporting to management
- Be familiar with basic computer functions and willing to be trained in the use of transportation software and office suite
- Have a willingness to train others in the performance of job functions
