Title: Midnight Shift Direct Care Worker

Supervisor: Management

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma/GED

Valid Driver’s License

Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Human Service Field

Human Relations Skills

Status: Part Time

Maximum___________ hours per week unless prior supervisor authorization

The following is a list of your responsibilities as Teacher/Counselor:

  • The Teacher/Counselors are responsible for maintaining the group home with for up to fourteen male residents. This shall include assuring that the house, grounds and vehicles are clean and properly maintained. Preparing meals in accordance with nutrition guidelines and the Child Nutrition Program. Direct Care Workers are responsible for maintenance and operation of the home through responsibility expending resources within the amounts allocated by the Board of Directors and properly recording such transactions.
  • Treatment of all the residents is to be carried out in accordance with the residents written transition plan. Staff should assist in keeping the residents focused on their transition plans. Staff are responsible for monitoring the behavior of the residents, teaching daily living skills, providing positive reinforcement as well as providing a consistent, predictable, stimulating and safe environment.
  • Staff are responsible for accurate and legible record keeping in the form of daily logs, medical logs, home visit logs, medication logs, financial accountability forms, etc.
  • Staff are responsible for maintaining and facilitating good working relationships between Stepping Stone, Inc. and the resident’s family members, DoHS workers, Juvenile Probation Officers, Therapists and Lawyers. Representing Stepping Stone, Inc. in a positive manner is expected.
  • Staff are responsible for maintaining the household and the treatment of the residents in accordance with the Marion County Health Department, State Fire Code, State Child Care Licensing, Behavioral Health Licensing and Medicaid regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, having an annual TB test, maintaining first aid, CPR and verbal intervention certification, maintaining a valid food handler’s card, and passing a CIB clearance.
  • Staff will comply with all instructions provided in the Stepping Stone, Inc. Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Staff will attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled by the Executive Director.
