MIG Welder/Fabricator

Art Morrison Enterprises, located in Fife, WA is a leading manufacturer in the construction of chassis and suspension systems for hot rods and muscle cars is looking for a skilled MIG welder and fabricator. People applying for the position must be able to do the following:

Applies basic welding processes (MIG) to join Automotive components as specified by written instructions, weld schedules and drawings. Visually and dimensionally inspects completed work for conformance to verbal/written instruction and specifications. Works well as a team member and seeks clarification to refine welding techniques. Provide samples/proof of welding ability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes basic welding tasks while applying standard practices.
• Properly prepares weld surfaces.
• Follows written instructions, sketches and weld schedules.
• Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• Regularly evaluates his/her own product quality for continuous improvement.
• Fitting of welded assemblies
• Works under direct oversight.
• Successfully complete Formal welding training or have equivalent experience.

Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of work router operations and sketches. Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
• Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments.
• Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches.
• Must be able to use mathematics relevant to job functions.
• Requires good manual dexterity.
• The ability to lead by example with regards to quality and workmanship.
• +3 Years of custom fabrication skill.

Work environment:

• Working Conditions

Use of protective clothing, goggles, helmets with protective lenses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.

• Physical Requirements

This is a production environment the welder performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent sitting, standing, movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
