The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating pipework to engineering drawings and company quality standards. Applicants must have strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and rectify welding defects prior to products progressing through the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG and MMA (Stick) welding of carbon steel pipework and associated fittings
  • Reading and understanding engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Measuring and marking pipe accurately using tape measures and fabrication tools
  • Producing high-quality welds in line with company and customer standards
  • Inspecting own work before passing to the next manufacturing stage
  • Identifying and rectifying welding defects including:
  • Porosity
  • Undercut
  • Pinholes
  • Lack of fusion
  • Grinding and dressing welds where required
  • Working safely and maintaining high housekeeping standards within the workshop
  • Supporting production targets while maintaining quality requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous pipe fabrication and welding experience essential
  • Experience with MIG and MMA (Stick) welding processes
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of weld quality standards and defect prevention
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a weld test during the interview process

Working Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
  • Overtime available during busy periods

Additional Information

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Oldham or plan to relocate before starting work.

Experience Preferred

  • Pipe Fabrication: 1 year+
  • MIG Welding: 1 year+
  • MMA / Stick Welding: 1 year+

Pay: £18.50 per hour

Work Location: In person
