The Danish Embassy in Ankara is looking for a Migration Policy Officer
The Embassy's Political and Communications Department is looking for a Migration Policy Officer to support its team of five members and two interns.
Job assignments
The Embassy’s Political and Communications Department handles a wide range of tasks, including domestic and foreign policy, public diplomacy, energy cooperation, and migration affairs. As our new colleague, you will be responsible for the migration portfolio. Türkiye and Denmark are strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of migration with an ambitious five-year cooperation programme launching this autumn. The programme is managed from Copenhagen, but the embassy will be greatly involved given its presence in Ankara. Moreover, migration is a policy priority for the Danish government and followed closely.
Your tasks will include following the implementation of the bilateral programme, maintaining close relations with implementing partners and the relevant Turkish authorities, following and analysing relevant developments in the field of migration and protection, as well as assisting colleagues in Copenhagen to support Danish objectives. Further tasks will include planning technical and high-level visits from Denmark as well as ensuring coordination with other international actors in Türkiye. Lastly, you are expected to be ready to assist other colleagues, including in other sections at the embassy, in times of particular need.
The position is limited to 2 years with possibility of extension, and is based on a 40-hour week. Please note that there may be occasional and limited out-of-hours work around major events and visits as well as occasional duty travels within Türkiye.
Employment conditions are subject to local Turkish employment law and MFA guidance for local staff. Salary in accordance with qualifications according to individual agreement.
Qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who:
Language, communication and analytical skills
Expected start date
1 November 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The employment requires security clearance from the Danish authorities.

Employment conditions
• You will be offered a full-time position and be appointed according to regulations for Mission Employed Staff at the Royal Danish Embassy in Ankara, Türkiye
• Your standard working hours will be 40 hours per week
• You will be entitled to 4 weeks of paid holiday per year
• After tax and social security contribution, the monthly net salary will be in the range 1.900-2.000 EUR. Salary is set and paid in EUR.
• Employer’s pension contribution varies according to residence status in Türkiye
