Operating out of a 35,000 sq. ft., climate-controlled facility, the team of 50 employees utilizes 100+ CNC machines to produce complex, precision-engineered parts. As a Mill-Turn Set-Up Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and optimizing multi-axis mill-turn machines to produce complex, high-precision components. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical challenges and working on intricate parts from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate mill-turn or multi-axis machines (e.g., live tooling lathes, 5–9 axis machines)
  • Configure both turning and milling operations in a single setup
  • Install complex tooling packages (live tools, sub-spindles, Y-axis tooling)
  • Load, test, and optimize multi-channel CNC programs
  • Perform first article and in-process inspections
  • Synchronize operations between spindles and turrets
  • Troubleshoot complex machining issues across multiple operations
  • Optimize cycle times and reduce tool wear
  • Ensure part quality across complete, finished components

Qualifications:
  • 2–5+ years CNC experience, including mill and lathe setups or mill turn set up
  • Strong understanding of multi-axis machining and machine kinematics
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience with advanced CNC controls (Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, etc.)
  • Ability to edit multi-channel G-code programs
  • Deep knowledge of tooling, workholding, and process sequencing
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Trade school or advanced machining certification (preferred)
