Milling 5 Axis Machinist III (Experienced)

A Morgan Hill-based precision machining company that produces machined parts for the medical, aerospace and telecom industries has a position for a CNC 5 axis Vertical Mill Machinist.

The position performs the following duties:

* Setting up and operating a CNC Mills under general supervision. This includes the ability to change offsets and tools on machines as necessary

* Setting up a CNC mill from engineering drawings

* Read and interpret CNC programs to maintain close tolerances

* Monitor machine performance and ensure efficient, uninterrupted production. Capable of troubleshooting machining issues promptly

* Optimize machining processes including tooling selection, feeds/speeds and cycle times

* Perform basic measurements using a) Caliper b) Micrometer c) Height Gage and d) Optical Comparator

* Performing incling Inspection (after passing a validation)

* Managing first article prodution and inspection

*Inspect and measure parts to verify conformance to specifications

* Disposition Nonconforming product

* Establish LINE CLEARANCE

* Log in and out of the shop tech system and record the quantity of parts manufactured and the quantity of parts scrapped.

* Fill out all appropriate sections on the Job Traveler

* Fill out SPC report (in-process inspection reports)

* Perform routine machine maintenance and shop upkeep

* Other duties as needed.
