Millwright/Mechanic - Firefighting Pump Systems

Job Overview:
The Pump Mechanic is responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining emergency response pump systems of various sizes, capacities, and manufacturers. This includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance. The position will need to have a strong mechanical aptitude as well as knowledge of low voltage electrical systems (12v and 24v). They must also be able to read and interpret schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot problems effectively. Additionally, the Pump Mechanic will need to work as a member of a small team and must be able to communicate well with the engineers and other production crew to ensure every project is built to the customer’s specifications and industry standards. They must have strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical principles, be self-motivated, and take exceptional pride in their work.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and repair high volume industrial pump systems
  • Install and repair electrical wiring, switches, relays, and solenoids in automotive applications
  • Installing 12v and 24v electrical systems into industrial pump trailers
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with equipment
  • Understand and interpret schematics and diagrams
  • Perform preventative maintenance on company’s fleet of emergency response equipment

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of various engines
  • Experience with wiring switches, relays, and solenoids in automotive applications
  • Proficiency with 12v and 24v electrical systems
  • Familiarity with a variety of electrical and mechanical tools
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and wiring principles
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and be self-motivated
  • Must have access to, or willing to acquire basic hand tools (impact, wrenches, etc…)
