Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mill Wright/Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects, ensuring all work meets safety standards, quality specifications, and industry codes. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques to join various metals including sheet metal, ductwork, and pipe components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts accurately.
- Measure dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure components meet specified tolerances.
- Fabricate custom parts by cutting, bending, welding, and assembling materials according to project requirements.
- Conduct rigging and crane operations safely when handling heavy materials or assemblies on construction sites or within manufacturing facilities.
- Follow all safety protocols adhering to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards during fabrication and welding activities.
Skills
- Proven experience working on construction sites with knowledge of site safety procedures.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques with the ability to weld various metals including sheet metal and pipe using <LOCATION> specific welding standards.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate fabrication.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, assembly processes, ductwork fabrication, and machining operations.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Experience with rigging operations involving cranes or forklifts for lifting heavy components safely.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing welding and fabrication practices in manufacturing or construction environments.
