Mine Planning and Technical Services Superintendent

Our client is a global precious metal mining company. Now we are looking for a Technical Services and Mine Planning Superintendent position for our client.

This position reports to Mine Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Services

• Ensuring open pit mine operation is productive and meets ore excavation targets.
• Managing outsourced open pit mine operations
• Planning drilling and blasting
• Ensuring mobile mining equipment in open pit (excavators, drilling equipment, rock trucks) are fine-tuned and meets KPIs (excavation, ore carrying, fuel consumption) by fleet management and dispatcher.

Mine Planning

· Provide short (daily, weekly and monthly), mid (1-3 years) and long term (LOM, strategic) mine planning activities by Mine Site planning app.

· Working closely with process team and ensuring feeding ore enrichment process with right amount of ore.

Survey

· S/he will lead the generating cadastral map of mine site including land use capability classes

· The person will generate detailed surface mapping

General Responsibilities

· Establish best practices in the mining industry by leading a high-level culture of work safety and continuous improvement.

· Improve teamwork and lead the personal development of Technical Services and Mine Planning team by coaching, mentoring and demonstrating high level leadership qualities.

· Review current open pit mining operations and identify efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.

· Collaborate with other departments including HR, HSE, Legal, Procurement, Process, Geology and Geotechnical

Qualifications

· Bachelor Degree in Mine Engineering.

· Minimum of 13 years of experience (operational, technical and management) in underground hard rock mining with progressively increasing responsibilities.

· Demonstrated operational experience in leading three Chiefs (Technical Services, Mine Planning, Survey) 7 Engineers and some blue collars, with a focus on the safe and efficient management of open pit mining operations.

· In-depth knowledge and experience in open pit mining engineering disciplines, including geology, rock mechanics, drill & blast and mine planning.

· Familiarity with various mine planning apps as Data Mine, Surpac, Mine Site

· Familiarity process design and improvement tools like Visio

· Highly effective organizational and analytical skills with the ability to strategic thinking and problem solving.

· Proven leadership and communication skills.

· Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
