Mission & Strategy Coordinator

The mission & strategy global function is a group of support service teams that seek to advance the understanding and practice of core disciplines that are integrated throughout every level of the organization. These disciplines include spiritual integration (SI), listening, monitoring, & evaluation (LM&E), strategic alliances, strategy and innovation. Mission & strategy teams serve the organization by helping to clarify standards, align expectations, and equipping teams for excellent practice of their respective disciplines. The mission & strategy coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the vice president of mission & strategy and the broader mission & strategy function. They will contribute to a thriving team culture through coordination of regular team meetings, informal gatherings, and retreats. They will also support key initiatives of the various mission & strategy sub-teams, including serving as the coordinator of the partnership collaboration pipeline. As a 12-month term position, a major objective will be to explore the use of AI tools that can be used to automate or streamline various job responsibilities and train the team in their use.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.
  • Administrative support to the VP of Mission & Strategy
  • Manage calendar planning and details for recurring meetings as well as provide calendar management support to the vice president
  • Prepare and send agendas for recurring team meetings, galvanize team members to prepare and share pre-reads, capture action items during meetings, and send follow-ups as needed
  • Assist in fostering team culture, including facilitating celebration and fun on the team
  • Collaborate with the vice president to coordinate team gatherings and retreats
  • Support the vice president in coordinating personal travel arrangements
  • Assist with the preparation of function-level reports
  • Explore the use of AI or other tools to automate or streamline administrative responsibilities
  • Coordinate the research and exploration of long-term office options for the CSU Durham team
  • Administrative support to partnership and collaboration activities
  • Track partnership inquiries and contribute to the exploration of more effective partnership pipeline tracking and communication, including potential use of AI or other innovative tools
  • Support the refresh of the HOPE resource library
  • Support to the broader Mission & Strategy global function
  • Coordinate logistics for team travel, liaising with HOPE’s travel agents, as needed
  • Manage mission & strategy team key performance indicators, working closely with team leads to understand workflows and discern the best stewardship of resources
  • Support the team in maintaining high-quality data and reporting in Asana, HOPE’s project management platform
  • Undertake special projects under the direction of the vice president or other team leaders, as needed

Qualifications

  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
  • Growth mindset
  • Proficient in problem solving and solution-oriented mindset
  • Detail-orientation and aptitude for creating and improving processes
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel)
  • Experience learning and using AI and new software solutions to make process improvements
  • Experience in tools frequently used by the mission & strategy team a plus (current tools include Asana, 15Five, and Miro)
  • Excellent writing and communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skill
  • Experience supporting a variety of teams simultaneously
  • Experience working with senior executives (a plus)
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Familiarity with international development (preferred)
  • High school diploma required/Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
