Description
As a Microsoft 365 Administrator, you’ll play a key role in managing and optimising our M365 environment, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for our users. Based in our MMR local offices, you’ll work closely with a collaborative team of Support Engineers in an environment where everyone contributes and every voice matters.
Our flat team structure means you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of tasks, support senior engineers on ad‑hoc projects, and continue developing your technical expertise. Key Responsibilities
Security & Compliance
Play a central role in protecting our Microsoft 365 environment by managing DLP, sensitivity labels, retention policies, and eDiscovery. You’ll monitor compliance alerts and help ensure we meet key standards such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
Threat Protection & Incident Response
Take ownership of security alerts across Microsoft Defender tools. You’ll investigate phishing attempts, malware, and compromised accounts, contributing directly to strengthening our overall security posture.

Identity & Access Management
Manage Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and RBAC to ensure secure, seamless access for users. You’ll keep a close eye on identity‑related risks and help maintain a robust authentication environment.

Governance & Policy
Support the development and enforcement of governance policies across Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange, using tools like Endpoint Manager and PowerShell to keep our environment consistent and compliant.

Endpoint Management
Oversee device compliance and application deployment through Intune. You’ll manage MDM/MAM policies, Autopilot provisioning, and ensure healthy, secure endpoints across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

Monitoring & Reporting
Regularly review audit logs, usage reports, and security dashboards, providing insights and recommendations that help guide leadership decisions and improve our security and compliance posture.

Business Continuity
Support backup, recovery, and legal hold processes, ensuring our Microsoft 365 services remain resilient and aligned with business continuity plans.

Project Work
Get involved in a variety of IT projects, working alongside senior engineers, contributing to planning, and taking ownership of assigned tasks through to completion.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Key Technical Skills
- Working Knowledge of M365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Azure AD
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Centre, Microsoft Defender suite (Office 365, Endpoints, Identity), and Microsoft Purview solutions.
- Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for device compliance, application deployment, and security baselines.
- Solid experience in Exchange Online administration, including mail flow, transport rules, retention policies, and security configurations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 migration, integration, and hybrid scenarios
- Familiarity with concepts for distribution lists, security groups and M365 Groups
- Understand M365 Teams integration capabilities with M365, SharePoint Online and Third-Party Apps
- Experience maintaining a thorough understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft 365 core technologies
- Experience of producing high-quality documentation and user guides for the wider business.
- Experience of working with third party providers e.g. Microsoft technical support
