Mobile Crane Mechanics

Our Company is seeking an experienced equipment technician/operator. This role focuses on inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aerial work platforms (MEWPs/scissor & boom lifts), forklifts, and mobile cranes. The right candidate is safety-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a controlled, compliance-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance (quarterly and annual) on:
• Aerial Work Platforms / MEWPs (scissor lifts, boom lifts, personnel lifts)
• Forklifts (electric and/or IC)
• Mobile cranes (support inspections and maintenance; coordinate load testing as required)
• Respond to service calls:
• Routine calls within required timeframe
• Emergency calls within 24 hours (on-call rotation)
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues (controls, sensors, batteries/chargers, hoses, leaks, safety interlocks)
• Complete functional testing after repairs and confirm equipment is safe for return to service
• Prepare clear documentation:
• Inspection checklists
• Service reports and repair notes
• Parts requirements and supporting quotes when needed
• Maintain tools, service vehicle/van readiness, and a clean work area
• Follow strict safety and compliance practices (PPE, lockout/tagout, spill prevention, hazard reporting)
• Coordinate with supervisors and customer representatives for access, scheduling, and approvals

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining/repairing at least two of the following:
• MEWPs / AWPs
• Forklifts
• Mobile cranes (maintenance support/inspection coordination)
• Strong knowledge of:
• Hydraulics (valves, cylinders, pumps, hose assemblies)
• Electrical troubleshooting (basic diagnostics, wiring, switches, sensors)
• Mechanical systems (drive systems, steering, brakes, structural checks)
• Ability to read service manuals, follow checklists, and document work accurately
• Comfortable working in a secure/base environment and following access procedures
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong English communication (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• OEM training/certifications (JLG, Genie, Toyota, Jungheinrich, Yale, Grove, Link-Belt, etc.)
• MEWP license (IPAF 3A/3B or equivalent)
• Familiarity with standards such as ANSI A92, ASME B30, OSHA 1910.178 (not required but a plus)

Pay: QAR3,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
