Mobile Crisis Worker (Qualified Mental Health Professional)

Mobile Crisis Worker Job Description:

As a Mobile Crisis Worker, you will provide direct service that assists with deescalating the severity of a client's level of distress and/or need for urgent care associated with a mental health and/or substance use disorder to avoid psychiatric hospitalization or further decompensation. This includes providing Crisis Stabilization to individuals 18 years and older. Responsible for the development and implementation of individualized service plans in accordance with the program description.

Responsibilities:

• Must have Mobile Crisis Response Training Required
• Provide direct services to clients, including linkage, advocating, supporting, and providing education as needed.
• Respond to crisis situations within 24 hours.
• Recommend and Link clients with appropriate external programs or services, such as health services, recreational activities, childcare services, financial resources, employment resources, childcare, AA/NA groups, transportation resources, and others.
• Collaborate and coordinate with other service providers and professionals, such as attorneys, social workers, and probation/parole officers.
• Complete all progress notes and reports in a timely fashion and provide accurate time sheets.
• Assure the client is informed of his/her human rights.
• Maintain weekly contact with the referring agency.
• Conduct discharge planning in accordance with the program description.
• Attend all meetings as required.
• Advise the Clinical Director of the state of clinical services, its staff, and its needs and solicit assistance in implementing solutions to problems.
• Serves as an active member of the on-call crisis team
• Communicate with team members consistently throughout the duration of the case.
• Maintain consistent contact with the client for the duration of services
• Utilize resources and assistance provided by supervisors and cohorts

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services to include social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, criminal justice, and human services counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience providing mental health services and case management to individuals suffering from a mental illness for at least one year. A Master’s Degree is preferred. All applicants must be registered with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

This position also requires a valid driver’s license, automobile and telecommunications availability, excellent verbal and written skills; counseling and social work theories and techniques; and community resources. Strong writing and case conceptualization skills and reference to a methodology. The successful completion of a criminal history or background investigation is required.

This position is being offered from Saturday-Wednesday for the following shifts:

• Midday/Afternoon: 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM
• Afternoon/Evening: 4:00 PM-10:00 PM
• Evening/Overnight: 10:00 PM - 4:00 AM
• Overnight/Early Morning: 4:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Please Note: Selectees may be engaged as either employees or independent contractors (1099), based on business needs and the terms of the offer. The position is available on a part-time or full-time basis and may also offer the potential for conversion to a salaried role.
