Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles in the field. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including construction equipment, industrial vehicles, and transportation trucks. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will keep our operations moving forward with confidence and precision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, and fluid checks to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, cutting, soldering, and power tools to meet operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on heavy equipment, including wiring harnesses and sensors.
  • Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repair procedures accurately for compliance and future reference.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and suspension components.
  • Proficiency with schematics interpretation and automotive diagnostics tools for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with power tools and hand tools for precise repairs.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various outdoor environments under different weather conditions.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment or automotive repair is highly desirable.
  • Valid certification in diesel engine repair or automotive service technician credentials is a plus; relevant licenses such as air brake endorsements are advantageous.
