Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repairs, and wheel alignments to maximize equipment longevity.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
- Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues related to automotive diagnostics and industrial equipment.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of heavy equipment components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with workmanship.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for equipment repair or modifications.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize automotive diagnostics tools effectively.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, alignment services, and air brake systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with physical strength for heavy lifting tasks.
- Valid certifications related to automotive repair or heavy equipment operation are highly desirable; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
