Mobile Service Technician
A Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for providing the highest quality repair services to Southport Truck Group’s customers and maintaining exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties

Inspect, diagnose, and repair general heavy and medium-duty trucks

Document all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on in-house business system(s) via a repair order

Perform preventive maintenance as needed

Tag and document all warranty and core items appropriately

Assist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if needed

Maintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required OE training
-
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility

Adhere to and promote stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management. Recognize and report all accidents and hazardous conditions

Quality Inspection tests on repaired vehicles

Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Experience working on heavy/medium duty trucks or formal training from technical school
-
Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
-
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized within heavy/medium duty truck
-
Possess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)

A neat and organized approach to work & reporting
-
Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

Ability to meet attendance requirement

Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
-
Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

Ability to drive company and customer vehicles

Valid Class A or Class B, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
