Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mobile Engineer 3 with strong expertise in commercial HVAC/R systems and supermarket rack refrigeration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of building systems and facility equipment across assigned locations.

This role requires hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and preventive maintenance practices. The engineer will support facility operations by ensuring all systems function efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.

The selected candidate must be comfortable working independently in the field, responding to service calls, updating work orders in real time, and supporting overall facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on:
• Commercial HVAC/R systems
• Supermarket rack refrigeration systems
• Electrical distribution systems
• Plumbing and piping systems
• Mechanical and production equipment
• Building interior and exterior systems
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operational performance and energy efficiency.
• Maintain and repair:
• Air handling units
• Compressors
• Condensers
• Evaporators
• Refrigeration racks
• Pumps, motors, and controls
• Complete assigned facility inspections and report equipment or operational deficiencies affecting building performance.
• Respond to corrective maintenance requests and emergency service calls as needed.
• Utilize CMMS/work order management systems (such as Corrigo) to:
• Update work order status in real time
• Document maintenance activities
• Record equipment history and repairs
• Submit required documentation, including daily P-card receipts and maintenance records.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response activities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in:
• Commercial HVAC/R maintenance
• Supermarket refrigeration systems
• Facility engineering and building maintenance
• Strong experience troubleshooting and maintaining:
• Commercial refrigeration systems
• Supermarket rack refrigeration systems
• Universal CFC Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
• Strong technical knowledge of:
• HVAC/R systems
• Electrical systems and distribution
• Plumbing systems
• Mechanical equipment maintenance
• Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel between assigned facilities.
• Willingness to work on-call schedules and emergency maintenance requests.
• Willingness to join UFCW 951.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using CMMS/work order management systems (Corrigo preferred)
• Working knowledge of:
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
• Two-year trade school certification or documented apprenticeship in:
• HVAC
• Refrigeration
• Electrical systems
• UST Class B Certification (training may be provided)

Pay: $36.00 per hour
