Mobile Experience Outreach Specialist & Driver

Summary:

The Mobile Experience Driver & Outreach Specialist is responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient deployment of SRP’s Mobile Branch to community locations, events, and outreach initiatives throughout SRP’s field of membership. This role serves as the primary operator of the Mobile Branch and is accountable for vehicle operation, site setup and breakdown, operational readiness, and security oversight while ensuring compliance with applicable transportation and safety regulations.

In addition to operational responsibilities, this position plays a key role in advancing SRP’s community engagement efforts by serving as a visible brand ambassador at community events, strengthening relationships with local organizations and partners, and helping increase awareness of SRP products, services, and financial education resources. Working closely with the Mobile Experience Assistant Branch Manager and internal support teams, the Mobile Experience Driver & Outreach Specialist helps deliver a consistent, reliable, and positive member experience while supporting the credit union’s mission of serving and strengthening the communities within its field of membership.

Work Schedule: Varies as required by planning needs. Early mornings, late evenings, and weekends may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Serve as a visible SRP ambassador by actively participating in community events, networking opportunities, outreach initiatives, and sponsorship activities to strengthen community relationships and increase awareness of credit union services.
  • Identify, build, and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, schools, and local partners within SRP’s field of membership.
  • Assist with coordination of community events, sponsorship activities, promotional materials, and outreach initiatives while capturing engagement feedback and observations to support future planning.

Mobile Branch Operations & Vehicle Management

  • Safely operate and transport the mobile branch vehicle to scheduled locations and community events while ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain driver logs and required documentation; and report operational, safety, security, maintenance, or site-related concerns.
  • Ensure routine vehicle maintenance is performed and coordinate service or repairs as needed to support safe and reliable operation.
  • Set up, secure, and break down the mobile branch at each deployment site, including operation of stairs, ramps, leveling systems, generators, signage, and onboard equipment.
  • Maintain the safety, security, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the mobile branch vehicle, including monitoring security systems, supporting crowd and traffic awareness, and maintaining sanitation systems and wastewater tanks when used.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain required permits, approvals, and site access authorizations for mobile branch deployments and community events.
  • Serve as the primary 24/7 on-call contact for mobile branch operational, security, and urgent support needs, coordinating assistance as required.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, property managers, or event security as required to ensure the safety of the Mobile Branch and SRP ambassadors.

Technology & Operational Readiness

  • Coordinate and troubleshoot communications and networking connectivity, including cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, and VPN systems, serving as the first point of contact for basic technical issues prior to escalation to IT support.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Community Impact, IT, and Facilities teams to support mobile branch operations, outreach initiatives, and event participation.

Compliance & Member Service

  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the member benefit-based approach.
  • Fully complies with all SRP Credit Union policies, procedures, guidelines, and service standards, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Communicate member feedback, service issues, operational concerns, and outreach insights to the Mobile Assistant Branch Manager and appropriate internal teams.
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision

Supervisory Responsibilities

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in vehicle or fleet operation, facilities or equipment maintenance, security or operational support, technical field support, or related roles.
  • Experience operating large vehicles, specialty vehicles, or equipment trailers preferred.
  • Experience supporting operations at events, remote locations, or rotating worksites preferred.
  • Experience coordinating site access, permits, or compliance requirements strongly preferred.
  • Post-secondary coursework, technical certification, or vocational training in transportation, facilities, security, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound operational decisions in the field, and communicate effectively with team members and community partners.

Licensing & Certifications:

  • Must possess a valid non-commercial driver’s license appropriate for vehicle weight and operation (ex: South Carolina Class D or Georgia Class C). Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Ability to meet insurance and fleet safety requirements.
  • First Aid/CPR or similar safety certifications preferred.
  • Ability to meet internal background screening and compliance requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot mobile branch equipment and systems, including onboard power systems, electrical panels, computers, printers, exterior displays, sanitation equipment, vehicle leveling systems, and access equipment such as ATM stairs and platforms.

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong situational awareness with a commitment to safety and compliance with applicable DOT and operational regulations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to support routine vehicle maintenance and operation of mobile branch equipment.
  • Working knowledge of communications and networking systems (cellular, Wi-Fi, satellite, VPN) with the ability to troubleshoot issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a mobile environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, reliability, initiative, and commitment to member-focused service.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a mobile branch environment, including standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to enter and exit the mobile unit using stairs or ramps.
  • May be required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms.
  • May be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions during events and deployments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing, reaching an operating equipment.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via digital channels.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.
