Job Title: Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of large construction equipment in the field. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality service to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy construction equipment
• Maintain and service equipment including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other diesel-powered machinery
• Inspect equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions
• Complete preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks
• Respond to service calls and breakdowns in a timely manner
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working in the field
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators regarding repair status and needs

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working on heavy construction equipment (field experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, and climbing on equipment

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
