Mobile Ice Cream Scooper Star!

G’day! Caleb here, event manager of Happy Cones and we're currently hiring seasonal truck drivers!

In 2014 our founder Hap arrived here in Denver from his native New Zealand . He bought a 1989 school bus off Craigslist and imported the first New Zealand made ice cream blending machine into America. On the back of that bus he had the words painted, “everyone leaves happier”. To this day, it's these three words that drives everything we do at Happy Cones. Whether it's scooping at one of our two shops, serving on one of our three trucks at Denver's food truck events or catering a party.

WHAT THE ICE CREAM TRUCK DRIVER ROLE INVOLVES

Firstly the boring stuff……

• The ol insurance company requires you to be over 21 and have a clean driving record.
• You'll feel comfortable being trained to drive an oversized vehicle (think large box truck or small Fedex truck around town. You will be trained!)
• The role is from now to October(ish) with evening and weekend availability a must. If you crush the role this year then every summer going forward we’d love to have you back.
• Be able to work 20-30 hours a week.
• No need to be an athlete, but gotta be able to lift 60lbs and stay on your feet for an extended timeframe
• Have at least 2 years experience in the hospo industry.

Now the fun stuff……

• We're a tight knit team, so we're looking for someone with a friendly personality and a positive outlook that works great in a team environment, but can also work independently when needed.
• You're a genuine lover of people who gets energized from offering an elevated guest experience.
• You have excellent communication skills and get excited about communicating with event hosts about making their event memorable.
• A bonus if you can do a good New Zealand accent!
• You love to take customer complaints as opportunities to create a Happy Cones follower
• You thrive in a fast paced environment and naturally work with a sense of urgency. If you can sing and dance whilst hustling you're in the right spot!
• Being a part of the local food truck community, and trading ice cream for free meals with your fellow food truck mates.
• You're comfortable working in an inclusive environment of difference races, genders, religions, sexualities and nationalities.
• And again, like to have fun at work!
