Mobile Medical Trailer Truck Driver CDL A - Home Daily - Full Time Nights - Owosso

We are seeking a dependable and efficient CDL Class A truck drivers to drive tractor trailers for local deliveries of medical diagnostic equipment. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.

CDL-A drivers are responsible for the safe and timely movement of tractor trailers configured for mobile medical imaging (MRI & PET mobile units) and assisting technologists at client site.

Job Description

The MRI/CT techs in the mobile units scan during the day, so employees will move trailers at night to locations where appointments are scheduled. Employees report to Corunna daily to pick up their truck, then drive to hospitals & medical clinics (mostly in the metro Detroit area). Once the employee arrives at a client location, they drop off or pick up their trailer. Set up/tear down requires drivers to get out of their truck and unload or pack up the trailer (we say this takes about 30-45 minutes). Drivers will typically move 2-3 trailers a night. Drivers will be provided training for 2-3 weeks to learn the routes and to learn how to set up/tear down trailers.

Hours: 6PM to 2AM or 5PM-3AM

Employees work 8 -10 hours shifts 4-5 times a week. Shifts include week night and weekend nights.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to drive tractor trailers with manual and automatic transmissions with a minimum of 2 years experience. We will train on medical equipment specifics.
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
  • Ensure trailers of securely connected to tractor
  • Set up medical equipment at destination
  • Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
  • Make safety a priority at all times
  • Monitors, reports and/or repairs any mechanical or safety item that would prevent the safe transport of company equipment.
  • May be required to perform Q.A. checks on equipment after arrival at site.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Able to work nights and weekends (Hours typically start at 5-6pm and end 2-3am)
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A required
  • 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Able to set up medical diagnostic equipment at delivery sites (training will be provided)
  • Clean DOT driving record with no moving violations
  • Comfortable with Transporting and setting up medical equipment
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy tractor trailers
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
  • Ability to drive safely and not cause damages to client trailers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time

TYPE OF EQUIPMENT OPERATED

Semi Trucks & tractor trailers. Must be able to understand and retain training by all manufacturers on mobile medical imaging trailers.

Training pay for the first (2-3 weeks) then pay rate increases to $27/hour. If employee can demonstrate excellent performance, they will receive a raise to $29 to $30/hour after 90 days. Full Time Drivers receive benefits.
