Mobile Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures with precision and care, adhering to established laboratory techniques and aseptic techniques.
  • Collect specimens from patients in diverse settings, including homes, clinics, hospitals, and community sites, ensuring proper labeling and handling for laboratory processing.
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration when required to support patient assessment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures, including specimen details, patient information, and test requisitions, following medical terminology standards.
  • Follow strict safety protocols to ensure patient care and specimen integrity, including proper disposal of sharps and biohazard materials.
  • Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance during blood collection.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens and accurate test results.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and anatomy relevant to phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Proven experience in clinical laboratory settings or hospital environments performing venipuncture and blood sampling.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology concepts, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe specimen collection.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols related to specimen handling, patient care, and safety regulations.
