Mobile Service Technician

Duties

• Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment using OEM schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system troubleshooting, suspension adjustments, and air brake inspections.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components.
• Diagnose electrical issues involving wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules; perform electrical repairs as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures; assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate machinery.
• Maintain detailed service records, parts inventories, and repair logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance or upgrades.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in dealership settings or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, HVAC systems, and tire service.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking.
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems in heavy machinery and farm equipment.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, suspension components, air brakes, alignment procedures, and power tools usage.
• Prior experience working with Caterpillar or OEM machinery is highly desirable.

Pay: $27.78 - $33.46 per hour
