Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic - II, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse equipment, utilizing your mechanical expertise to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to keep our fleet operating smoothly across various environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and hydraulics.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems involving power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and hand tools.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment longevity and safety.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or transport tasks.
- Maintain accurate service records including diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Assist with tire service, wheel alignment, and suspension adjustments to optimize vehicle handling and safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working in dealership settings or heavy equipment repair environments with a strong mechanical background.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics with knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with schematics for hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, HVAC units, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance apparatus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
