Mobile Vision School Clinic Director

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Director is responsible for the overall planning, development, coordination, implementation, and management of all school-based clinic functions and related partnership activities. In collaboration with the ED, the Director will oversee outreach, and promotion of school based mobile clinic activities, acting as a point of contact with outside stakeholders, including patients, tele-optometric, contract, and volunteer doctors, Lions Clubs across the State of Georgia and donors. The Director will work collaboratively with the ED and other senior leaders to ensure an integrated, high-quality system for delivering care.

The ideal School Clinic Director will have experience in a nonprofit, school or healthcare setting with previous management or lead experience and will be an organized and curious strategic thinker who enjoys research and synthesizing information in meaningful ways.

The School Clinic Director will support the mission of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation which is to provide vision services through education, detection, prevention, and treatment. Through collaborative partnerships, we enable greater independence and increased quality of life for Georgians in financial need.

Job Functions

Create a high-quality patient, volunteer and contracted doctor, and partner experience.

· Develop, implement, and monitor an effective and innovative school clinic program.

· Provide support to the Executive Director in developing and implementing short- and long-term strategic and operational planning, goals and strategies positioned within the program services department.

· Build, implement, and adapt school clinic services to further the mission of the organization.

· Develop, grow, and sustain community relationships and partnerships to enhance visibility, awareness, engagement, and student services.

· Develop strong collaborative relationships with volunteers, contract doctors, and partners.

· Identify and implement methods to collect patient feedback via satisfaction surveys and the collection of patient stories and photographs. Share results with Development and Marketing Team.

· Develop community relationships to enhance visibility, awareness, and engagement.

· Serve as a positive public-facing advocate and ambassador for the mission of the organization.

· Share social media information regarding the school vision services.

· Coordination of media days with the school and community partners.

· Ability to work with high level executives in corporations and schools.

· Coordinate and participate in back to school days and other special days

Leads and builds staff and volunteers to achieve mission-based goals.

· Supervise and guide school-based optometric technicians.

· Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to staff.

· Lead the day-to-day operation and coordination of school clinic services.

Manage the operations and administration of the school screenings and clinics.

Lead the strategic development and execution for all Georgia Vision Screening and Clinic efforts which includes Metro/Surrounding Atlanta counties and outside Atlanta.

· In collaboration with the Management Team, develop Annual School (including APS and YMCA). Screening/Clinic vision program working with Volunteers/GLLF Staff and metrics (background checks, metric reporting, mission stories, satisfaction surveys).

· Develop program for balance of Atlanta/Outside Atlanta that includes screening data capture and aggregation.

· Manage Vision Auto Refractor Loan programs for Lions/Volunteer Groups (includes equipment maintenance).

· Manage VSP (if available) and Clinic Voucher Programs.

· Coordinate dates and locations with key stakeholders including Lions Club members, staff, school professionals, other volunteers and tele-optometric/volunteer contract doctors for clinics. Include ED and CDO in relationship building.

· Process and monitor onsite intake process and eyeglass orders.

· Responsible for timely reporting and accuracy of school clinic service outcomes and activities for partners and donors.

· Create reports and projections based on requests from leadership.

· Responsible for reporting school program numbers as a member of the Board Program Committee.

· Develop plans and strategies to increase the number of students served.

· Document and refine standards and operating procedures.

· Ability to fill-in on clinic days to avoid when a staff member is unavailable (not routine).

Manage the operations and administration school clinic optometry volunteer and contracted doctors and volunteer screeners

· Develop, implement, and adapt internal and external volunteer engagement plans guiding volunteer and contracted doctors as well as volunteer screeners from point of entry through scheduling, orientation, matching, stewardship, and conclusion of service with the focus on school screenings and exams services.

· Develop recruitment procedures and training for new and existing volunteers.

· Ensure proper documentation of background checks, HIPPA compliance, as appropriate, volunteer doctor license, insurance, and other documentation as deemed necessary.

· Assist the ED in obtaining paperwork as needed for contracted doctors.

· Implement and support existing award and recognition programs/opportunities that celebrate volunteers and giving milestones.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree(s)/education in related areas preferred.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of Georgia schools, human services, healthcare, or nonprofit experience.

· At least 2 years’ experience in volunteer/collaborations/marketing.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and ability to learn and manage department specific software including EClinical and Flexus.

· 3 years of leading direct reports.

· Track record of delivering high-quality customer service.

· A data and deadline-driven team player with strong communication skills and ability to present information concisely and effectively.

· Excellent writing and editing skills for content marketing (including copywriting, social media posts, reports, etc.) as well as narrative/persuasive writing skills.

· Valid Georgia driver's license and clean driving record.

· Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

· Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

· Position requires critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.

· Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle volunteers, various school personnel and vision doctors. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,661.20 - $72,500.00 per year
