Model Making Artist

Macoma Tech is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Model Making Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating high-quality physical models with excellent craftsmanship and precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble architectural, industrial, and custom scale models
• Work with various materials including acrylic, wood, foam, MDF, plastics, and metal components
• Prepare, cut, shape, and finish model parts with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist in painting, detailing, lighting installation, and final finishing of models
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and design references accurately
• Support production processes including laser cutting, CNC, and 3D printed components
• Collaborate closely with designers and production teams to meet project requirements
• Maintain quality standards while working under strict deadlines

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in model making, fabrication, or related fields
• Strong craftsmanship and hands-on fabrication skills
• Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment
• Good understanding of model assembly and finishing techniques
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
• Strong attention to detail and patience in fine-detail work
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to different project requirements

Preferred Skills

• Background in architecture, fine arts, product design, or model making
• Basic knowledge of 3D printing and laser cutting
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Blender, or CAD software is a plus
• Experience in painting and miniature detailing is an advantage
