As a Unified Communications (UC) Consultant, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s Microsoft Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams Voice, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online environments.

You will work closely with the UC team at Global Brands (Microsoft Partner – Egypt, Saudi Arabia) and other global IT teams to ensure the reliable, secure, and seamless operation of unified communication and collaboration platforms across hybrid and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Exchange Server / Exchange Online

  1. Exchange Server Management: Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure (on-premises and online), including mailbox databases, connectors, and hybrid configurations.
  2. Hybrid Configuration: Implement and maintain Exchange Hybrid environments to ensure smooth mail flow and coexistence between on-premises and cloud mailboxes.
  3. Implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft Entra Connect to synchronize on-premises Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID.
  4. User and Mailbox Management: Create, modify, and remove user mailboxes and distribution groups. Manage permissions, aliases, and shared mailboxes in both Exchange On-Premises and Exchange Online.
  5. Email Compliance and Retention: Configure data loss prevention (DLP), retention, and litigation hold policies to meet compliance requirements.
  6. Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for Exchange infrastructure.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Analyze Exchange performance metrics, optimize resources, and proactively identify service degradation.
  8. Patch and Update Management: Keep Exchange environments secure and current with Microsoft updates and cumulative patches.
  9. Migration Projects: Plan and execute email migrations, including:
  • Cross-tenant migrations within Microsoft 365
  • G Suite (Google Workspace) to Microsoft 365 mailbox and Drive migrations
  • IMAP migrations from legacy email systems

10.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed configuration, process, and troubleshooting documentation. Provide operational reports to management.


Microsoft Teams Voice

  1. Design, plan, and deliver Microsoft Teams Enterprise Voice solutions, including full PBX migrations to Teams Calling.
  2. Design and validate inter-site and inter-user call routing, direct routing configurations, and session border controller (SBC) integrations.
  3. Create and validate PBX-to-Teams migration plans ensuring all readiness checks and dependencies are met.
  4. Provide governance and operational support for Teams policies, voice routing, and call quality management.
  5. Support Teams devices, SIP endpoints, and integration with third-party telephony systems (Avaya, Cisco, AudioCodes, Ribbon, etc.).


OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online

  1. Configure and manage OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online services to ensure secure file sharing, synchronization, and collaboration.
  2. Implement governance policies for sharing, retention, access control, and external collaboration.
  3. Support migration of user data from Google Drive to OneDrive for Business and assist with SharePoint site migrations and restructuring.
  4. Troubleshoot synchronization, access, and permission issues related to OneDrive and SharePoint.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth expertise with:
  • Microsoft Exchange Server (2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, SE) and Exchange Online
  • Microsoft Teams Voice and Direct Routing
  • SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business
  • Microsoft 365 tenant administration and hybrid configurations
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
  • Strong understanding of SIP protocol, DNS, mail routing, and hybrid identity management.
  • Experience with:
  • Cross-tenant migrations (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive)
  • G Suite to Microsoft 365 migrations (mailboxes and drives)
  • IMAP migrations.
  • Familiarity with Session Border Controllers, Media Gateways, and Teams-certified devices.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
