Modular Furniture Line Manager – Factory (Nehroli)

Reports to: GM – Unit 4

Department: Production (Modular/Board Furniture – Office Furniture dominant)

CTC = 1.2 lakhs per month

Timing from 8 am to 6 PM

Role Mission

Own the end to end delivery of the Modular (Board) Furniture line—from design

validation and DFM to first article approval, mass production, quality

control, on time dispatch, and snag closure—with tight daily reporting and

zero surprise execution.

Scope of Control

 Processes: Beam saw → Edge banding → Drilling/Routing → Hot/Cold Press →

Subassembly → Final assembly → Packing → QC → Dispatch

 Products: Workstations, desks, storage, partitions, meeting tables, pedestals,

office panels

 Teams: Line supervisors, operators, helpers, inprocess QC, packers (all shifts)

Key Responsibilities (EndtoEnd Ownership)

1. Design & DFM Validation

o Run Design Validation (DV) Gate: verify fit, form, function, stability,

and fastener logic; confirm hardware spec and alternates (with R&D).

o validate panel sizes, EB thickness, drilling coordinates.

o Approve BOM & routing signoff golden sample and FAI (firstarticle

inspection) with QC.

2. Industrialization & Change Control

o Freeze process plan (fixtures/jigs, templates, drill programs, EB

settings).

o Maintain ECO (engineering change order) discipline; ensure version

control across drawings, BOM, and labels.

3. Production Planning & Delivery Dates

o Convert sales/dispatch plan to weekly & daily MPS with PPC;

publish committed delivery dates.

o Balance loads across machines and shifts; ensure >85% machine

uptime and takt adherence.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

o Define inprocess checkpoints (cutting, EB, drilling, assembly,

packing).

o Enforce spec sheets (gaps/flushness, squareness, finish, torque

values, cycle times).

o Close NCRs within SLA; drive CAPA and recurrence prevention.

o Ensure packing integrity and drop/transport tests as applicable.

5. People & Daily Management System

o Upskill operators (toolbox talks, SOP refreshers); manage overtime

and skills matrix.

o Enforce 5S + safety; perform weekly audits with Maintenance & QA.

6. Reporting & Reviews

o Daily: output vs plan, RFT (rightfirsttime), rework/rejects, downtime,

shortages, NCR/CAPA status.

o Weekly: OEE, productivity, yield, cost/variance, ontime dispatch %,

open snags list with ETA.

7. Snag Management (ZeroDefect Mindset)

o Maintain Snag Register (by project/store/customer).

o Assign owners and ETAs; ensure sitefeedback closure ≤ 5 working

days.

o Run rootcause reviews for repeating snags; roll corrective actions

into SOPs.

8. Maintenance & Tooling

o Execute PM calendar (beam saw, EB, drill, press) with Maintenance.

o Maintain critical spares and tooling life logs; prevent stockouts.

o Escalate breakdowns; protect schedule with alternate routing when

needed.

MustHave Skills & Experience

 8–12 years in modular/office furniture (board)

 Strong in DFM, cutlists, routing, fixtures/jigs, and tolerance management for

casegoods.

 Proven production planning & line balancing; OEE/OLE, yield improvement.

 Expert in inprocess QC, FAI, NCR/CAPA, and packaging QA.

 Leadership: builds discipline, escalates early, communicates crisply.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹44,097.83 - ₹120,000.80 per month
