Peninsula Montessori is seeking a warm, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our growing school community. This role is essential in supporting daily operations while serving as a welcoming first point of contact for families, staff, and visitors.

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant supports the Head of School and leadership team with front office management, family communication, enrollment coordination, and general administrative tasks. This individual helps ensure the school runs smoothly and maintains a calm, welcoming atmosphere aligned with Montessori principles.

In addition to administrative responsibilities, this role includes occasional classroom support and staff break coverage, helping maintain continuity and ratio compliance while supporting the needs of children and teachers throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Front Office & Family Support

  • Greet families and visitors warmly and professionally
  • Answer phones and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Assist with enrollment inquiries and tour scheduling
  • Maintain student records and files

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support billing, invoicing, and tuition tracking
  • Manage attendance and documentation
  • Assist with licensing paperwork and compliance records
  • Coordinate staff schedules and substitute coverage when needed
  • Order and maintain office and classroom supplies

Community & Event Support

  • Assist with open houses, school events, and parent meetings
  • Support communication efforts (newsletters, reminders, updates)
  • Help maintain a positive and professional school culture

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative or office experience preferred
  • Experience in a school or early childood setting is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and general office technology
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Warm, professional, and team-oriented demeanor

Montessori knowledge is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday

(Some evening availability for events may be required.)
