Montessori Aftercare Teacher

This position is year-round afternoon position. Hours are, but are not limited to, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm 3 days a week and 11:00-2:00 2 days a week. Ability to substitute other shifts is highly desirable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide children with a well-organized and beautiful environment.

- Prepare snack set up for the classroom.

- Assisting children in diapering and the toileting learning process.

- Assist in cleanliness of facility.

- Cover recess and lunch relief as needed.

- Maintain a mature, professional, respectful parent-teacher-child relationship

- Document student progress and attendance including detailed accident, incident and discipline reports

.- Organize crafts, lead group times, create and complete daily lesson plans - set-up and provide materials according to lesson plan for the afternoon and assist in class clean-up after school.

- Become knowledgeable with Montessori terminology and methods.

- Lift a minimum of 50lbs and have full range of body movement

Qualifications:

-Montessori experience strongly preferred

- Needs to be 18 years of age or older

- Experience working with children 2 - 6 years of age required

- A strong interest in Montessori education

- A minimum of 6 credits of child related courses within 30 days of employment.

- Certified in CPR/AED and first aid or certified within 30 days of employment.

- Shaken Baby Awareness class taken within 30 days of employment

- Need to be able to legally work in the United States.

- All employees are required to pass a criminal background check and health screening.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
