Montrose Family | Temporary Infant Specialist

HE FAMILY | A thoughtful first-time family in Montrose is seeking an exceptional temporary nanny or infant specialist to help provide part-time care for their 4-month-old daughter. The family consists of two devoted first-time parents and their baby girl, who sleeps well overnight and reasonably well during the day. They also have two friendly indoor cats.

The parents are engaged, loving, and eager to learn, and are looking for a seasoned professional who can offer steady expertise and reassurance without judgment, ego, or overstepping.

This is a beautiful opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in short-term, high-impact roles and genuinely enjoys supporting new families during foundational months. This is a 4 to 6 week commitment, to start.

THE INFANT | Their 4-month-old daughter is a sweet, sensitive baby who has been navigating reflux and some feeding challenges. At this time, she feeds exclusively with Mom and Dad, who have become incredibly creative and patient in supporting her—mom incorporating long walks and upright positioning (often with Dad holding her) to help feeds go more smoothly. She sleeps well overnight and naps throughout the day, typically lasting 10 minutes to about an hour, though longer naps are more common when she is supported by contact. She thrives with calm, responsive care and benefits from thoughtful, reflux-aware handling.

THE JOB DETAILS | This is a temporary 4–6 week engagement based in Montrose, with a schedule of 2–4 days per week and 4–5 hour shifts. The family is seeking meaningful, hands-on support during this transitional window, and flexibility within the agreed schedule is appreciated. While the position is short-term, there is potential for a longer-term opportunity as the family's childcare needs evolve.

Primary responsibilities include attentive, developmentally informed care of the 4-month-old, with particular focus on reflux-sensitive feeding, breastmilk handling, bottle preparation, and responsive nap support (including contact naps when beneficial). The nanny will proactively provide in-home support, stepping in so parents can rest or work, while managing light infant-related tasks, such as washing bottles, handling baby laundry, and maintaining tidy nursery and play spaces. This role calls for someone who naturally takes initiative, reads the room well, and brings steady leadership without disrupting the parents’ growing confidence.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE | They are looking for a professional who brings warmth, kindness, and thoughtfulness into the home, paired with a calm, steady confidence that helps everyone feel at ease.

The ideal caregiver will not only provide excellent infant care but will also gently guide and encourage first-time parents as they grow into their new role. This person understands how to support parents without judgment or ego—creating space for them to “practice” parenting, build confidence, and trust their instincts, while still offering reassurance, perspective, and leadership when needed. The family is seeking someone who can be both a grounding presence and a quiet coach: steady, respectful, and deeply attuned to the emotional landscape of early parenthood.

This role is best suited to a career nanny or infant specialist with substantial experience caring for infants aged 4 months and older, particularly those with reflux or feeding sensitivities. Strong candidates will have a working knowledge of infant reflux and positioning techniques, be confident handling breastmilk and bottle feedings, and have experience navigating challenging or sensitive feeds. A deep understanding of age-appropriate sleep rhythms and developmental milestones, and comfort with contact naps when beneficial, are essential.

Beyond technical expertise, the right person is grounded, calm under pressure, collaborative rather than directive, and confident enough to take initiative while remaining warm, intuitive, and respectful. You know when to step in and lead and when to step back and empower—creating a supportive, balanced environment for both baby and parents during these foundational early months.
