Morning to Midday Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Abbi's Pet Sitting Services is a premier pet care company providing exceptional in-home pet sitting and dog walking services throughout Norton, MA and surrounding communities within a 10-mile service area.

We are seeking dependable, professional animal lovers who are passionate about providing outstanding care to pets and exceptional service to their owners. This is a year-round position with opportunities for growth and advancement for candidates seeking long-term employment in the pet care industry.

Please Note: This is not a seasonal, temporary, or summer position. We are looking for individuals interested in becoming long-term members of our team.

Primary Shift Available: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Our services are provided seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Additional availability may be required based on client needs.

What We Do

Our team provides personalized care for a wide variety of companion animals and farm pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, and other household and livestock animals.

Services include dog walking, pet sitting, vacation care, medication administration, and general pet wellness visits, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each animal.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to clients' homes throughout our service area
• Provide safe, reliable dog walking and pet care services
• Utilize positive reinforcement and safe animal handling techniques
• Administer medications as directed by clients
• Follow detailed pet care instructions and company protocols
• Monitor pets for signs of illness, injury, distress, or behavioral changes
• Maintain the safety and security of clients' homes and pets
• Clean up after pets and properly dispose of waste
• Document visits and maintain detailed records through our pet care software
• Communicate professionally with clients and management
• Work independently while maintaining company standards
• Provide exceptional customer service and attention to detail

Qualifications Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous professional or extensive hands-on animal care experience
• Experience administering pet medications
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Smartphone with reliable internet access
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Dependable in all weather conditions
• Comfortable handling animals of various sizes, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels
• Comfortable entering clients' homes and maintaining strict confidentiality

Preferred:

• Experience caring for horses, livestock, or farm animals
• Experience caring for multiple animal species

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk several miles per day
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely manage active and energetic animals
