Overview: The Mortgage Closing Disclosure Specialist supports Real Estate Lending Operations by preparing, verifying, and distributing Closing Disclosures while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including NCUA regulations, TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) requirements, and MCU policies. This role serves as a key liaison between MCU, our bank attorneys, and members to facilitate a smooth and timely closing process.


Responsibilities
:


Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and review Closing Disclosures in compliance with NCUA, TRID, and internal policies.
  • Verify fees, loan terms, and settlement statements for accuracy and consistency.
  • Communicate with title/escrow agents to confirm fees, terms, and timelines to prevent delays.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in loan terms, fees, or documentation prior to closing.
  • Monitor timelines and manage critical disclosure deadlines in accordance with TRID to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide members with clear explanations of documents and respond promptly to inquiries from all parties involved.
  • Maintain accurate records of closing disclosures and supporting documentation to ensure adherence to company and federal/state mortgage regulations.
  • Utilize loan origination systems (LOS) and other mortgage software tools to prepare and track closing disclosures.
  • Assist with QC/Post-Closing and compliance audits related to Closing Disclosures and answer to findings as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.


Requirements
:
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage closing, processing, or disclosure preparation within a credit union, bank, or mortgage lender.
  • Knowledge of LE, COC and CD preparation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of TRID, RESPA, Regulation Z, CFPB, HMDA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Lending, title insurance, title reports, notes, mortgages, and related documentation.
  • Familiar with MortgageBot and DocMagic, a plus but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and organization.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to communicate within a team to solve issues and drive results, positive attitude.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Technologically proficient.

The pay range for this position is between $48,200-75,330 annually. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, 401(k) with an 6% employer match per pay period. Benefits for this position include Medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, flexible paid time off and 11 paid holidays annually.
