Mortgage Loan Closer

Farmers Bank & Trust is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Loan Closer to join our Mortgage Division. This role is responsible for reviewing closing documentation, ensuring data integrity, preparing accurate closing figures, and coordinating the timely funding and disbursement of mortgage loans. Key Responsibilities

• Review title commitments, lock confirmations, approval sheets, and loan documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Interpret and analyze credit reports, title reports, appraisal reports, flood determinations, and income/asset verifications.
• Prepare closing figures and review/approve Closing Disclosures from title companies to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Manage workflow to meet minimum monthly production requirements and accommodate time‑sensitive requests.
• Conduct timely review of closed loan packages to verify accuracy, completeness, and readiness for funding.
• Clear suspense items efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with team members and act as a liaison across departments to resolve issues and support loan closings.
• Assist other departments and team members to maintain smooth production and ensure loans meet investor eligibility requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in the mortgage industry (required).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong sense of urgency, follow‑through, and responsiveness.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective time‑management skills.
• Experience with Encompass Loan Origination System (preferred).

TechnologySkills

• Intermediate proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with web browsers and general digital tools.
