Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Mortgage Servicing Specialist to work as part of a team servicing a portfolio of reverse mortgages on behalf of our nation's senior citizens. This effort supports the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and all servicing activities are performed within their information systems. Additionally, this position includes direct communication with borrowers and/or their representatives and includes taking/making inbound and outbound calls to identify their needs and provide helpful solutions that ensure they have a great customer service experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, computer savvy, and able to remain calm under pressure. The candidate must agree to and pass a government background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal record check.
Responsibilities
- Perform servicing activities within automated workflows in accordance with training and Standard Operating Procedures
- Receive inbound calls and place outbound calls
- Identify the reason for the customer’s call, collect relevant information, and provide solutions
- Use best practices in customer service techniques to develop rapport and build relationships with borrowers
- Document all customer interactions
- Attend trainings to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience in paralegal, mortgage origination, or mortgage servicing fields is preferred
- Previous experience as a Call Center Representative or in a similar role is preferred
- Excellent phone and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of active listening techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively
