About the Role
I am looking for much more than a traditional nanny role. I am looking for a trusted partner who can help create stability, organization, and ease within our home so that I can be fully present as both a mother and a business owner.
This position combines childcare, household management, family logistics, and personal assistant responsibilities. The goal is not simply to complete tasks, but to proactively manage the moving pieces of our family's life.
Schedule
- Tuesday through Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m
- Every other Monday: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Every other Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- 35 hours per week
Compensation
- $35 per hour
- Health insurance contribution
- Paid holidays and PTO (to be discussed)
Primary Responsibilities
Children & Family Support (about 20 hours a week)
- Assist with bathing and evening care
- Help manage children's schedules, activities, and responsibilities
- Assist with homework and school-related projects
- Monitor and organize school communications, forms, deadlines, and events
- Coordinate and manage appointments for children
- Communicate and coordinate with therapists and service providers
- Drive children and provide transportation as needed
- Pick up children from school, appointments, or activities as needed
- Support the children's routines and help maintain consistency within the household
Household Management (about 10 hours a week)
- Grocery shopping and household supply management
- Meal planning and meal preparation
- Laundry and household organization
- Light household upkeep and resetting shared spaces
- Watering plants and helping maintain outdoor areas
- Managing household vendors and service providers
- Scheduling and coordinating car maintenance and repairs
- Maintaining orderly systems throughout the home
- Anticipating household needs before they become urgent
Personal Assistant & Family Logistics (about 5 hours a week)
- Managing personal and family appointments
- Calendar coordination
- Booking flights, hotels, and travel arrangements
- Researching activities, camps, programs, and resources
- Coordinating paperwork and administrative tasks
- Running errands and handling miscellaneous family logistics
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring follow-through
- Helping manage the many moving pieces that come with a busy family and business
I am looking for someone who:
- Is reliable. This is a job where consistency matters, if you are sick do not come but otherwise I expect consistency and reliability.
- Notices what needs to be done before being asked
- Remembers important appointments and deadlines
- Handles school paperwork and follows through on details
- Books travel and manages logistics independently
- Ensures the kids are engaged
- Coordinates with therapists and service providers
- Keeps groceries stocked and meals prepared
- Maintains organization throughout the home
- Solves problems proactively rather than waiting for direction,
Most importantly, I am looking for someone who helps create enough bandwidth for me to be fully present as a lawyer, business owner, and mother.
I am not looking for someone who waits to be told what to do. I am looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes, anticipates needs, and proactively creates solutions.
Location
San Mateo County / Peninsula Area
This is an in-person position involving household support, childcare assistance, and local errands. Access to a car is required, as well as car insurance and a clean driving record.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
