Motion Graphics Designer/Video Editor

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled motion graphics artist with a background in video editing to join our post-production pipeline. This person will be responsible for the design, elevation and execution of logo reveals, chyrons, motion infographics and other displays of motion graphics throughout our work. This will likely amount to 25-30% of the job.

The remaining 70-75% will be focused on regularly editing a diverse array of video content ranging from- but not limited to- podcasts, live event footage, social media content, docu-series, and short and long form documentary.

We are looking for someone who is multifaceted, has experience balancing multiple projects and is a good collaborator. We are looking for a natural storyteller who can thrive in a busy workplace with an ability to handle a diverse range of content including medical, educational, and advocacy work primarily in the rare disease community. This person must work well under pressure, communicate well in pivotal moments, and be willing to bring new ideas to the table.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Create new motion graphic designs for logos, titles chyrons and displayed information

● Manage and animate multi-layered graphics from Photoshop and Illustrator files created by graphic designers.

● Assist in elevating current motion graphics that are in use throughout our content

● Attend and contribute to creative meetings for upcoming content

● Maintain organization of files, assets and projects in alignment with company standards

● Intelligently condense raw interview material into ingestible, enjoyable content.

● Create a visceral visual experience using captured video and stock footage where appropriate for individual pieces of content

● Contribute to the growth and evolution of existing properties

● Navigate visual effects such as cropping, resizing, color matching, motion, and transitions

● Navigate rounds of notes with various team members to achieve the desired final product

● Manage round trip delivery of assets between team members, Colorist and Post Audio

● Render, Export and deliver final products

● Work quickly and efficiently under pressure during times of high volume

● Manage a diverse workload

● Manage organized handoffs of assets to freelancers or other editors in times of overload

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

● Substantial motion graphics, video editing and visual storytelling experience

● Extensive knowledge and understanding of video editing and post production workflow

● Proficiency with Apple products, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace Apps

● A natural storyteller with the ability to intelligently condense long-form interviews in order to extract their key value to individual projects.

● 3 +years experience in post-production

● Extensive project management experience, ability to manage heavy workloads and rapidly shift priorities based upon the organizational needs.

● Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

● Thorough knowledge of the creative production process.

● Experience working in a complex, fast-paced organization is strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION

Range: $90,000.00 annually
