Mould Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mould Designer to design and develop moulds, patterns, and tooling used in the manufacturing of marine and offshore components. The ideal candidate will have experience in CAD software, mould fabrication processes, and marine production requirements to support shipbuilding, fiberglass works, and composite manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design moulds, patterns, jigs, fixtures, and tooling for marine and offshore components.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Develop mould designs for fiberglass, composite, plastic, or metal marine products such as boat hulls, decks, panels, tanks, and marine equipment parts.
• Review engineering specifications, dimensions, and production requirements before design implementation.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication, CNC, and engineering teams to ensure mould functionality and manufacturability.
• Modify and improve existing mould designs to enhance quality and production efficiency.
• Ensure mould designs comply with marine industry standards and safety requirements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for mould production.
• Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting of mould-related issues.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, and revision records.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mould Designer, preferably in marine, boat manufacturing, fiberglass, or composite industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of mould design principles, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of fiberglass, composite materials, resins, and marine production techniques is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in boatbuilding, yacht manufacturing, or offshore fabrication projects.
• Knowledge of CNC machining and tooling fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with marine classification and quality standards.
• Experience in prototype and product development.
