Mozzo Coffee – Espresso Bar Manager Role

We are recruiting for a dynamic Espresso Bar Manager to head up an exciting collaboration between CitizenM Hotels and Mozzo Coffee. You will be the face and voice of this fast paced, takeaway driven environment with a genuine passion for people and coffee.

Based in the prime Lower East Side of Bowery, this is a unique opportunity that brings together two brands looking to challenge and disrupt how hotels do coffee.

Focused on delivering engaging customer service and making continual operational adjustments for profitability and brand success. Collaboration with the Hotel Management, Directors, and function leads is necessary for creative direction, strategy, and ambition.

Skills you’ll have –

  • Experience managing a Coffee Shop/Espresso Bar environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and soft skills
  • Strong coffee skills – working with fully manual espresso machines
  • Experience leading an engaged and high operating team
  • Social media experience including creation of engaging content generation
  • Growth, forward looking mindset

Key requirements of the role -

  • Demonstrate unparalleled hospitality by creating a fun and engaging environment.
  • Strong and practical coffee skills, with a desire to develop knowledge and then share this
  • Achieve the highest standards of coffee preparation and delivery in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Develop positive relationships with both regular customers, the local community (businesses and organisations) and customers based on trust and respect
  • Drive to build a high performing business focusing on brand values, delivering financial profitability and continuing to look for ways to drive the Spaces social and financial performance.
  • Ensure opens and closes run smoothly, admin and issues are dealt with proactively, and the Space is always appropriately stocked with products and equipment.
  • Effectively manage the relationship between Mozzo and its operating partner CitizenM Hotel Bowery in a respectful, collaborative and positive manner
  • Support, develop and build a cohesive and high performing team delivering on brand standards and business KPI's
  • Social Media marketing required (see below)

Working Days & Hours –

  • Monday to Sunday
  • 35 - 40 hours per week*

*The Espresso Bar will be operational 7 days a week – exact opening times will be subject to change based on business demands and performance. This excludes any such extra cover as may be needed.

Salary & Benefits –

Mozzo Coffee, citizenM New York Bowery recruitment: Social media marketing requirement -

The world needs to know about our brand new coffee space, and whilst reputation and word-of-mouth are the strongest forms of marketing, we will need to put significant effort into finding and building an audience of Mozzo Coffee, NYC lovers.

There is no one more qualified to help marketing efforts than you, the keepers of the space. Therefore, a critical part of the role is to work, supported by the central marketing team, to generate regular and engaging content from the space, as well as manage and maintain coffee bar social community management.

Guided by brand direction and parameters, as well as a constant team communication flow, you will feel excited by the autonomy to both ideate and execute engaging videos and photos that reflect the brand offering.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
