About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MSHA Certified Safety Trainer to lead online safety certification courses for mine employees and contractors. This remote position offers flexibility while making a meaningful impact on mine safety across the industry.
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (20-40 hours/week)
Additional Hours: Increased hours possible during peak training months
Location: 100% Remote
Requirements: Stable internet connection required
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging online certification courses to mine employees and contractors nationwide
- Monitor student progress through our Learning Management System (LMS), tracking course completion and performance
- Complete and submit MSHA Form 5000-23 certificates for all qualified students
- Provide responsive student support via phone, email, and instant chat during business hours
- Ensure training compliance with all MSHA regulatory requirements and best practices
Experience & Skills:
- Prior experience as a mine operator and/or MSHA inspector (hands-on mining experience essential)
- Proven experience delivering MSHA Part 46 and Part 48b training courses
- Strong knowledge of 30 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and MSHA compliance requirements
- Proficient in public speaking and student engagement in a classroom or online/virtual environments
- Strong computer skills and comfort with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Availability:
- Available minimum 20 hours per week year-round
- Available for additional hours during peak training season if part time
Required Qualifications and MSHA Credentials:
- ✅ Valid MSHA Blue Card (current and active)
- ✅ Current Certified MSHA Instructor status in the MSHA database
- ✅ Part 48b Surface Training Certification - authorized to conduct New Miner and Refresher training
Preferred Qualifications
- ✅ Part 48a Underground Training Certification - authorized to conduct New Miner and refresher underground training is a plus but not mandatory
- ✅ Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is a plus but not mandatory
