Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist/Education Sector - known as an Education Systems Analyst I - is responsible for providing dedicated, on-site technology support - by phone or field service work - for our school and business client(s) in the Pittsburgh area. Expectations of the role include but are not limited to maintaining end-user devices including Chromebooks, laptops, desktops, tablets, smart boards, paging and/or phone systems, and working with end-users on proper use of equipment and how to use supporting technology.
Key Position Responsibilities
1. Manages student Chromebook inventory; diagnoses and repairs student devices.
2. Works with administrator, faculty, and student end-users to determine and resolve desktop problems.
3. Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, including remote repair.
4. Performs upgrades, installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and desktop applications and systems to ensure longevity within established standards and guidelines.
5. Maintains accurate information and data regarding end-user issues within the tracking system and according to policies and standards.
6. Creates documentation on the analysis, testing, and modifications made to systems or programs for archival Knowledge Base to ensure more swift resolutions moving forward.
7. Handles initial diagnosis for internet or network service disruptions and onsite applications as well as escalation to network or server specialists.
8. Effectively completes jobs and assignments; works the issue to completion and does not leave until the issue is resolved.
9. Manages the relationship with customers making sure they are happy and informed. Handles irate, upset, or impatient customers as needed.
10. Provides support to Dispatch including fielding customer support requests, creating service tickets, and coordinating schedules to promote prompt service.
11. Properly manages and records time spent on customers and internal projects.
Position Requirements
· Certifications: A+, Google Educator, G Suite for Education (and/or on the job)
· B.S. or A.S in a related field or equivalent work experience
· 2-3yrs experience with Chromebook, desktop, or educational IT instruction
· Education background preferred with exposure to Student Information System Management
· Excellent PC troubleshooting skills, deep technical knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Deployment technologies, Microsoft Azure, and basic Network skills
· Strong typing skills a plus
· Customer service attitude with professional verbal/written communication skills
· Experience with Malware removal preferred but can be learned on the job
· Ability to work in a school environment five days per week and in various client settings, drive to client locations, and lift/carry computer equipment and peripherals
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm
