Multi Craft Helper

As a Multi-Craft Helper, you will support skilled tradespeople in the completion of projects across a variety of crafts, including civil, mechanical, fabrication and more. In addition to traditional multi-craft helper tasks, you may be responsible for ensuring safety by acting as a Firewatch and Spotter during specific tasks such as hot work operations and heavy equipment usage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Multi-Craft Assistance: Provide vital hands-on support to skilled tradespeople in civil, mechanical, fabrication, and other trades, performing basic tasks like material handling, equipment setup, and site cleanup.
• Firewatch Duties: Monitor hot work areas (e.g., welding, cutting, grinding) to detect and prevent potential fire hazards, ensuring proper fire extinguisher placement and immediate action if a fire starts.
• Spotter Responsibilities: Assist in the safe operation of heavy machinery and equipment, acting as a spotter to guide operators in lifting, loading, and unloading materials, and ensuring safe equipment operation in high-traffic areas.
• Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting tasks under the guidance of senior tradespeople.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, including ensuring tools and materials are stored safely.
• Ensure all safety procedures and protocols are followed at all times to protect yourself and others on the job.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering materials and supplies as needed.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a construction or maintenance-related role is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of construction practices and safety procedures a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Firewatch certification (or willingness to obtain it upon hiring).
• Spotter certification (or willingness to complete training as needed).
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid TWIC required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
