Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans tailored to students’ skill levels and interests in various musical genres and instruments
- Conduct engaging classroom sessions that incorporate curriculum development, practical exercises, and performance techniques
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, respectful learning atmosphere
- Provide individual tutoring sessions to reinforce skills and address specific learning needs
- Incorporate additional artistic disciplines such as theater, dance (including ballet and dancing), or photography into lessons to enrich the educational experience
- Support students’ progress through regular assessments, feedback, and goal setting
- Organize performances or recitals to showcase student achievements and boost confidence
- Collaborate with parents or guardians for early childhood education, preschool programs, or special education needs
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching music across different age groups and skill levels
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and motivating environment
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Ability to work effectively with children, including early childhood education and preschool experience
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster discipline and focus during lessons
- Familiarity with childhood development principles relevant to teaching young learners
- Experience in tutoring students individually or in small groups to enhance their musical abilities
- Additional skills in culinary arts (cooking), sewing, or other creative arts can be an asset for interdisciplinary teaching approaches
- Understanding of special education practices to support learners with unique needs
- Competence in using multimedia tools or photography equipment to enhance lessons when applicable
