About the Opportunity

Oman Academy of Music and Performing Arts is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Music Theory Teacher to join our growing international faculty in Salalah, Oman. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator who loves music education and wants to inspire students of all ages in a structured, creative, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Music Theory to beginner, intermediate, and advanced students
  • Develop engaging lesson plans based on international music education standards
  • Prepare students for exams, performances, and certifications
  • Teach core topics including:
  • Note reading and rhythm
  • Harmony and ear training
  • Scales, intervals, and chord structure
  • Composition fundamentals
  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Support students in developing performance confidence and musical creativity
  • Collaborate with other instructors for school concerts, recitals, and workshops
  • Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Western music theory and/or contemporary music theory
  • Previous teaching experience is an advantage (music school, academy, or private tutoring)
  • Ability to work with children, teens, and adults
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for music education and student development
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus but not required)
