MV/LV Switchgear Engineer – Level 2

Location: Abu Dhabi

Contract: 12 Months

We are looking for a MV/LV Switchgear Engineer – Level 2 to serve as SME for MV/LV switchgear and power systems ensuring safety, reliability, and uptime in data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

Execute MOP/SOP/EOP for switching and load transfers.
Manage interlocks, monitor PQ indices, and breaker status.

Maintenance
Perform PMs on ACB/MCCB/VCB breakers.
Conduct injection tests, relay verification, and STS/ATS logic checks.

Protection & Coordination
Maintain settings and analyze trip records.

Troubleshooting
Diagnose trip causes and relay failures.
Conduct RCA and CAPA.

Compliance & Safety
Enforce LOTO/PTW and arc-flash safety.

Vendor & Documentation
Coordinate OEMs, manage spares, maintain CMMS logs.

Cross-Discipline Awareness
Understand UPS, DG, cooling, and fire alarm interfaces.

SLA & KPI Targets

• ≥99.995% protection uptime.
• Zero preventable trips.
• 100% PM compliance.
• RCA closure ≤5 days.

Technical Skills

• Breaker/relay testing,
• protection basics,
• thermography.

Soft Skills

• Clear communication,
• vendor coordination,
• precise handovers.

Work Conditions

• 24×7 or on-call environment,
• Energized systems,
• PPE mandatory.
