Nail Technician

Are you a skilled nail technician looking for a salon that truly supports your craft and your earning potential? Wish Salon & Nails is seeking an experienced, licensed nail technician to join our growing team at our established full-service salon in Falls Church, VA. This is a part-time position to start, with the opportunity to move into a full-time role as you build your book.

We've been proudly serving the Falls Church community for over six years, building a loyal client base and a reputation for quality hair, nail, and beauty services. Our salon has been under new ownership for the last year with a clear mission: put our team first. We believe that when our team thrives, our clients get the best experience possible.

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

• 50% commission on all services + 100% of your tips from day one—no guaranteed minimum, but no cap on what you can earn either! Nail techs at our salon can expect to earn $3,000–$6,000+ per month depending on hours and clientele. (See our marketing details below for how we help you get there.)
• 10% commission on retail product sales (no pressure, no targets—the opportunity is yours if you want it)

Products & Creative Freedom

• Salon covers the cost of ALL consumables and professional products
• You choose the products and brands you want to work with—we'll stock what you need
• We price-match Amazon and Walmart on our top retail products, making it easy for clients to buy from the chair

Operational Support

• All shifts staffed with receptionists who handle check-in, check-out, phone calls, and help with cleaning between clients
• We handle all marketing—organic and paid social media—and tag our nail techs to help grow your personal following and build your regular book of clients
• Walk-ins welcome, online booking through Vagaro, and a steady flow of new clients from our marketing efforts

Work-Life Balance

• Salon closed every Monday—guaranteed day off each week
• Flexible scheduling to fit your availability—this is a part-time role to start, with the option to go full-time as your book grows
• Coverage needed on Friday, Saturday, and especially Sunday
• Weekends also offer the highest earning potential

Hours: Tue–Fri 9AM–7PM | Sat 8AM–5PM | Sun 10AM–5PM

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Active Virginia nail technician license in good standing with the Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists (Nails required, Waxing/aesthetician is a bonus)
• Don't have a Virginia license yet? If you're licensed in DC or Maryland, transferring your license to Virginia is a straightforward process and we're happy to help you through it!
• Must be eligible to work in the US

Preferred

• 2+ years of experience working as a licensed nail technician in a salon environment
• Existing book of business or a following of regular clients
• Proficiency in gel manicures, dip powder, acrylics, nail art, and pedicures
• Strong client communication and consultation skills
• Team-oriented attitude with a professional, positive energy
